Just to give you an idea of the lay out of my day care room...keep in mind we aren't open for business yet and so if something seems slightly unorganized it wont be by the time I'm ready for children to enjoy this room.
An inside view of the day care door, cubbies, bulletin boards ect...click on the picture for details of the bulletin boards.
I think this is my favorite feature of the room, a large lovely bay window that is now the quiet area for reading.  There is space for two to four children to sit in this area depending on how sharing they are feeling at the time.  I stuffed and sewed closed a child size dragon sleeping bag for a big cushion on one side and there are lots of colorful furry pillows we made all around the walls.  More plants will be hung soon.
To the right is the dramatic play area, which is now simply a house play area but someday it will be a rain forest, pizzaria, circus ect...the small table may have to move out into the room to make space for imaginative play.
Here's an interesting storage idea...you know how there is just never enough room to store all the things you want to someday have available for the kids?  Well I found a way to recycle the hooked heavy plastic zippered bags that my new curtains came in.  The shelves I chose are white plastic coated wire shelves and the bags hang on them like they were made for each other.  I was able to stash all of my math and science resources in the bags and hang them from the bottom of the shelf and still have room on the shelf itself for plenty of additional science and math activities.  I know where everything is and the bags are clear so I can find it when I need it.
To the left is my art supply shelf, I may have to find more storage space for those items someday soon.
Here we see partially organized toys, books, music resources, videos ect...
teacher resources are on the very tip top and on the bottom two shelves are the infant toys.  That black square object on the floor leaning against the yellow totes is a flannel board I just made...lots to do yet!
