Because I truly believe that a childs music education is a present investment in a lifetime of musical pleasure, I have set up the following policies regarding your childs musical instruction.
TUITION
A. 30 minute lessons: $30.00 B. Tuition is due the first lesson of each month. C. Tuition encompasses recitals, group classes, and private lessons. D. Monthly tuition remains constant regardless of the number of lessons received in any given month. E. If at any time you do not complete the month, there will be no refund of tuition. F. If the tuition is not received by the 10th of the month, a $5.00 overdue fee will be added. G. Students must arrive on time for their lessons. Students arriving late will only receive the remaining portion of their lesson.
MAKE-UP LESSONS: Make up lessons will only be given when 24-hour notice is given for sickness, or if sudden extreme weather conditions occur. Make-ups will not be given for any other reason.
MISSED LESSONS: If a student cannot attend the lessons for reasons other than those listed above and cannot arrange a swap, the lesson is forfeited. If the teacher cannot attend a lesson for reasons other than those listed above, and cannot arrange a swap, the teacher will forfeit the income.
BOOKS AND MATERIALS: All students are responsible for books and materials needed for lessons. If it is agreeable, I can purchase the necessary materials in advance and the student can then reimburse me for the purchase.
GROUP LESSONS: Once each month there will be a group performance and theory class in lieu of the weekly private lesson. Attendance of group lessons is mandatory and cannot be made-up. By performing for their peers on a regular basis, students can rid themselves of a great deal of stage fright. Group lessons also offer the experience needed to make recitals a more relaxed encounter.
SUMMER LESSONS: At this time I do not offer summer piano lessons. I feel that summertime is a good time for the students to enjoy themselves and not have any piano worries. However, this does not mean that students who plan on resuming lessons when school starts should entirely stay away from the piano all summer.
CALENDAR: I basically follow the Wellston School calendar. The following holidays will be observed: Fall break, Christmas break, Spring break, Federal holidays, and any special family occasions. As a mother, my children are my first priority; and as such, any activities they are involved in will receive my full attention.
MISCELLANEOUS: All students should have short fingernails. All students should arrive with clean hands; otherwise part of his lesson-time will be spent washing his hands.
PARKING: Please do not block the dirt driveway that leads to the cement driveway. You may park at the end by the basketball court.
VISITORS: Parents and/or friends are not invited inside the studio during lessons. I have learned through time, that students do not need any added distractions during lesson time.
PRACTICE: Remember to work with your child in setting up a daily practice schedule as soon as each new season approaches, whether it be the school year or summer vacation. A set time each day will help them remember without constantly having to be reminded and will also help insure that you are getting your moneys worth of music lessons.
QUESTIONS ???: If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call between 9:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. My telephone number is (405) 356-2079.
It is my sincere desire that my teaching and your support at home will form an effective team. By working together we can make music one of the most enjoyable experiences your child will ever encounter. This is one of the few avenues of training that will carry with them an entire lifetime. |
