| CLOTHING Dress for fun! Our days are filled with all kinds of hands-on learning. Children should wear simple, washable clothing and comfortable shoes. Since learning extends to the outdoors, please dress your child appropriately for the weather. We will go outdoors everyday as long as it is not raining or snowing. Sometimes we can be messy, so bring a change of clothes for your child, including pants, shirt, socks and underwear. Make sure clothing is labeled, including jackets and coats. TOYS FROM HOME Bringing toys from home to show to other friends is important to children. But we know special toys can get broken. If a child brings toys, they will be required to put them in their cubbie until it is time to go home. We will take time each day to show our special toys. If your child requires a toy for comfort or naptime, please feel free to bring those items. NAP/REST TIME All children will have appropriate resting time in the afternoon. Eighteen (18) months to three (3) years will take naps on cots provided by Kid's Place, Inc. Three (3) to five (5) year olds will be required to lay down and at least rest. School age children will have quiet time with a book. Many children also need security items for rest time. By all means, bring those items, but make sure they are labeled. Otherwise, we ask that you cooperate with Kid's Place, Inc. and not allow your child to bring toys to play with or other items from home except on designated Show-and-Share days. LOST & FOUND Toys and clothing that have gone astray generally find their way to the Lost & Found. This is the first place to check when things disappear. It is located in the front entryway. OTHER ACTIVITIES Kid's Place, Inc. will see to the needs of getting children to the preschools currently available in Louisville, the United Methodist Church Preschool and Louisville Early Education Center. |
