Deed Book 4, pp 195-196. 30 Aug 1831. FRANCIS HESTER, JAMES HESTER, BARTLETT KNOTT and wife JANE, WILLIAM HESTER and wife JUDY, WYATT CURRIN and wife ELIZABETH, and AGNES HESTER, to ROBERT HESTER… whereas a certain HENRY HESTER died possessed of a tract of land lying in Granville Co. NC leaving his wife ONEY HESTER who was entitled to her dower in said land and she the said ONEY HESTER together with the legatees mentioned above have lately consented and agreed that the lands belonging to the estate of the said HENRY HESTER dec'd should be sold to the highest bidder, accordingly the land was divided into two tracts and after due advertisement set up for sale to the highest bidder when the said ROBERT HESTER appeared and bid the sum of $230.63, which being the highest and the last bid, the following part or piece of said land was struck off to him hereinafter described. Now know ye that for and in consideration of the sum of $200.63 to FRANCIS HESTER, JAMES HESTER, ROBERT HESTER, BARTLETT KNOTT and wife JANE, WILLIAM HESTER and wife JUDY, WYATT CURRIN and wife ELIZABETH and AGNESS HESTER (heirs at law of the said HENRY HESTER dec'd) in hand paid by the said ROBERT HESTER…a certain parcel of land (it being a part of the lands of which the said HENRY HESTER died signed sold and possessed) bound as follows: Beginning at the corner black oak in YOUNGs line South 72 degrees West to a White Oak in STOVALL's line, thence due South 160 poles to a corner post Oak David OVERBY's corner…Capt JOS HART's thence East to a black gum corner…75 ac.

Benjamin BRADLEY Deed to Moses WATTS

Know all men by these presents that Benjamin BRADLEY of Concord in the County of Rockingham and State of New Hampshire --- for an in consideration of the sum of Thirty Pounds lawful money to me in hand paid before the delivery hereof will and truly paid by Moses WATTS of Londonderry, the County and State aforesaid. Yeoman thence … whereof do hereby acknowledge have given, granted, bargained sold and by these precepts do give grant bargain sell assign release ---convey and confirm to him the siad Moses WATTS his heirs and assigns forever one hundred and XXX in Peacham, the County of Orange and State of Vermont so called being Lot number forty-eight in the Ranges and in the second division of Land in the said Township belonging to the Original Right of Joseph BURT as will appear by the Charter of the said Township and by the Proprietors Book of Record, reference hereto being had.. To have and to hold the said granted and bargained promises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same appertaining to him the said Moses WATTS, his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use, benefit and behalf forever and the said Benjamin BRADLEY for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators do covenant grand and agree to and with the said Moses WATTS his heirs and assigns that until the delivery I am the lawful owner of the said premises and am lawfully ---and prejudice here of in my own proper right in fee simple and have full power and lawful authority to grant convey the same in manner aforesaid that the said premises are free and clear of all and every encumbrance whatsoever and that my heirs, executors and administrators shall and will warrant and defend the same to the said Moses WATTS his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims or demand of persons claiming from by or under me or the original grantee or either of our heirs in whitness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this twentyeth day of September AD One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty-Eight.
