There are several renditions of how some think the name was created. But I think you will find this first one rather interesting and informative.
Back in the Donkey days, approximately 500 BC there was a young man by the name of Frank, he was a kind young man, some what of a faggit, but still, a very nice young man, he was walking down the dirt road leading up to his house on a fine summer day when he was a stone shining on the ground, he bent down to pick it up, it was so beautiful it shined in the summer sun light so he picked it up and put it in his pocket. After walking up to his home, he took it out and started examining it, on one side there appeared an inscription, it read "YKCUL DIK". He was rather puzzled by this foreign writing printed on it. He looked in a mirror and saw "KID LUCKY". He took this stone with him everywhere. Now, how might have come upon this name might you ask? Well, it's a folk tale that was been passed down from generation to generation of homosapiens and faggits, and it seemed very apporitiate for our band name. We feel it has a special meaning to us. Now that you have read that intire thing, you didn't really believe it... Did you?
We asked our trusty computer, and found a random band name generator, it works wonders, kid lucky came up and we thought it was cool.
But we all know the first tale sounded much more interesting now didn't it?
Now that you know how our name came to be... maybe you would like to know how the band came to be...
Way back when... sometime during the summer I am guessing, Vanessa decided to start up a band along with her two pals Michelle and Allison. Michelle would be this band's singer, Allison the guitarist and Vanessa the bass player. Now this band was almost complete but there were missing one key person... a drummer. For many months Kid Lucky went drummerless. This didn't seem to bother them since they weren't really a band yet anyways.
Last March, Vanessa and Lee had met at Vanessa's locker between 2nd and 3rd period to go to lunch as they always do, and somehow they brought up the topic of being in a band. They had several talks about this "band" when Vanessa and Lee decided that Lee would learn to play the drums, and Kid Lucky would have their long needed drummer. Well Lee's father was in the hospital at this time, and her mother had the van (she still can't drive without her freikin' MOTHER), there was no way that they would be making a trip to Burlington anytime soon because her mother was CONSTANTLY making trips to the hospital. As time went on they talked less and less about this band, until one Thursday afternoon before the Easter long weekend. Vanessa and Lee were sitting at their usual table with their loser posse, and they decided to take up a collection.
Sometime last year Lee began a foundation called "The Me Fund" but it had been unsuccessful for the past few months (although I would like to THANK Chris Willis for the whole FIFTEEN CENTS he donated... the only person who EVER has... until now). Over this lunch period they made almost twenty dollars... Their parents didn't really think that this band would go anywhere. First thing Saturday morning Lee, Vanessa and Lee's father headed out to Lakeshore Music in Burlington, Ontario in the ol' green van. Several hours later, they were trying to put together Kid Lucky's new drumset in Lee's basement. Unsuccessful at first, seeing as we had NO IDEA WHATSOEVER HOW TO PUT TOGETHER DRUMS!! But with the help of Frank and later on Chris Hampton and a few internet photos, everything worked out.
The next morning, Michelle and Allison left Kid Lucky.
It is now almost three weeks later, and although Kid Lucky still lacks a singer, we're making progress. We know a couple of songs... and have had MUCH support from our many fans... all ten of you who have actually heard us play!
