Proudly standing up for ideals they believe in alongside matey bands such as Southern Emo rock �n� roll wonderers The Dawn Parade and Miss Black America, here in this CD are three more bold, effectively chaotic reasons to stand aloft with these guys and gals - fronted by singer Ebony with her incredible voice.
Forever poetic, �Call Me What You Will� barely contains their trademark, self-styled angst, though Ebony hides it well until she starts ranting �We could explain but can�t excuse; so there�s nothing to say� in an awesomely compelling style similar to Obsessive Compulsive� and Hole: if Courtney Love had been more alternative in being punky and screamy and shouty in her youth.
We Can! We can! We can! And these guys WILL never compromise or exclusively focus their talents on just one genre of music. �Body of Mind� is borne out of a ska-jazz backbone and fondly reminds me of Hull band Psycho Skank (RIP) in all their pop-literate glory, leading into one of the coolest underground Alt-rock �n� roll anthems since Noah�s poor old Ark got nabbed for double parking on Mount Arafat�
Oh yeh, �In And Out� (�Indulge your body and abuse it�) maybe does borrow Nirvana�s �Come As You Are� bass riff � but it�s fine because Holly plays it so well, as if writing the band�s lyrics wasn�t enough for her. The chorus riff is wicked, this angst-rock anthem a masterpiece.
Oh yeh, Oh yeh. In a nation of youth still largely obsessed with angsty metal music where style sadly tends to preside over the bands� substance, here in WCBY we�ve got a literate band to genuinely believe in. Because � like you and me � they are mad with the world and all the selfish, arrogant and ignorant wankers in it� but the thing that sets this band apart is the fact that they intend to do something about the situation and to rid everything that is un-original and everyone who is apathetic towards the furthering of humanity.
