| THE RAPTURE SISTER SAVIOUR (SINGLE/ VERTIGO) The Rapture will remember 2003 fondly: its been damn kind to them. But then The Rapture have been damn kind to music, so fair is fair especially when their love for dancey rock music is as genuinely addictive as their Sister Saviour song proves to be. Also featuring on their Echoes album, this track in particular is slam-packed full of swaggering good vibes, as though Duran Duran, Primal Scream and the Rain Band have had a good old knees up together and forced their best bits into this one cut. Fantastically upbeat and benefiting greatly from its effective fusion of guitars, synths and ethereal vocals of class, theres little wonder that The Rapture have revelled in a couple of sold-out UK tours. And if you like the original version of Sister Saviour, youd best check out the wicked remixes too, as the 7-minute Tiefschwarz remix cant fail to remind of Kraftwerks arty Electro-exuberance. Innovative ambitions clearly come as standard - so dance-rock on! 4 / 5 (Steve Rudd) Release Date: November 24th 2003. |
