RAZORLIGHT - 'STUMBLE AND FALL' (MERCURY)

A dicky blackbird one a wire suggests to me that this London-based quartet are destined for big things in 2004 and beyond, having already supported the almighty Glam-pop-rock anthemists Suede on their farewell tour of 2003. Razorlight have also found time to play dates with The Hiss and The Hope of The States, and both the band and all Razorlight fans - who see themselves as being 'concerned' - are eagerly awaiting their debut album's release in the Spring.
'Stumble And Fall' is their third single and a perfect pop-rock anthem, coolly Strokes-ish in rad style, with vocalist/ guitarist Johnny Borrell sounding every inch the UK version of Julian Casablancas.
Fuelled by the band's sublime, three-way backing harmonies, Razorlight sound to have got it made; their music is exactly what 'pop-rock' music should be.
