'Remember me whenever noses start to bleed.' Mmm, I guess Placebo frontman Brian Molko might have that effect on some fans and non-fans alike, but we prefer to hold him and his band in high regard for producing such an original and emotionally sensitive rock sound. And this single from their 'Sleeping With Ghosts' album is in fact one of their career all-time highs so far, as was the recent 'Bitter End' that launched their '03 album.
'Remember me when you clinch your movie deal,' Bri laments, 'and think of me stuck in my chair which has four wheels.'
So Placebo are no happier in their older age - and we never expected they could be - as this song sounds to reminisce about youth past. The good news is, in light of their dark and brooding ways, their music has never sounded so frank and tenderly fantastic. And no matter how introverted they're feeling and expressing their toiling emotions, they're a band blessed with an extraordinary talent for making every song they produce sound totally anthemic and enthralling in its own right.
