LATITUDE BLUE
SEARCHING FOR PERFECT'
(BLEEDING MUSIC)

Signed to the Gloucester-based Bleeding Music outlet for creative talent, this UK guitar band has actually almost achieved the perfect of this 4-track EPs title.
Beginning proceedings with a track entitled 1961, a dark Glam-rock riff calls Placebos sound to arms, with compelling bass guitar grooves cleverly slurping all over the place and headlong into the instrumental middle-eight thats subsequently - and captivatingly - offset by sublime vocal harmonies. There is so much going on in just this one song that Latitude Blues talent for thoughtful songwriting shines as bright as luminous beans on hellfire, the euphoric guitar melodies seeing through Ill Be Fine with equal vigour.
Thematically dealing with relationships, between men and women (and across mankinds board as a whole?), the vocalist possesses a surreally distinctive voice. While having an air of Morrisseys - and Billy Braggs - vocal twinges about it, his soothing singing seems the ideal antidote to the bands anthemically poignant music - especially through In The Morning and the final, EP-closing track I Wasnt Born Just To Exist, the latter track being by far the most upbeat and perhaps memorable tune of this collection.
Latitude Blue are blue, for sure. They take both life and love very seriously indeed and articulate their collective pensive faade via their songs with proud relish. Still, they realise the importance of ensuring their songs are consistently catchy and wholesomely tuneful. Naturally, then, the world is their oyster.
