Melbourne marauders Jet were tipped as one of the hottest bands on Planet Rock in 2003, having impressed with their 'Get Born' album. This is the third single release from the ever-faithful LP and sounds destined to be a classic anthem if ever a bunch of Australians have written one. Sure, Crowded House and INXS had a splendid smattering of hits in their time, but Jet - with this one song - look set to turn heads en-masse in the 'down-under' direction.
While Jet are renowned for their cracking rock 'n' roll standards, 'Look What You've Done' is a tender piano-led tune: a beautifully slow-waltzing ballad with a steadily restrained back-beat.
'You've made a fool of everyone' so goes the lyric. Shame that at least one member of Jet resembles a fully-fledged YMCA-ite (at least on the single's cover artwork) given his stout beard, fair share of on display chest air and camp hat. Oh well. At least their musical substance makes up for their dubiously stylish 'fashion statements.'
