FOREVER UNTIL OCTOBER FOREVER UNTIL OCTOBER
(COPRO RECORDS)
I suppose Emo bands think theyre funny dont they? Just as Further Seems Forever gallantly stake their rightful claim as one of the hottest Emo rock bands out there, then comes along the equally as vibrant Forever Until October to just plain confuse and bemuse us.
And as both band names share a similar ring to them, so does the emotionally volatile music they both produce. Here, frontman Phil Darroch truly sings his bollocks off. He has no choice but to once the guitars clash courtesy of Adam Leeds and Sam Harvey, and theres no wonder these 5 guys have revelled in high profile support slots for the flaming fantastic Boy Sets Fire, Rival Schools, Hundred Reasons and the LostProphets.
But this grand 10-track debut album, following on from their sold-out 3-track EP Perfect, has to make Forever Until October stars in their own right, and it shouldnt take that long with tracks such as the album-opening Krom, in which Phils super-strength singing voice passionately shouts about questioning truth over feelings.
The guitar riff magic of Everythings Wrong stupyfyingly reminds of Turin Brakes chord progression in their Alt.-folk anthem Pain Killa, but less of that and three cheers to Perfects heart-attacking sincerity that hears Phils sensitivity ease to the forefront of the bands sensational dynamism.
Dont tell me what you want from me! he wails during their final song in Let The Dust Settle. Is he suggesting he loves his independence too much to be tied down? Mmm, he is on to something there though
Underground, overground, wandering free.
Forever Until October are essential listening trust me.     5/5     (STEVE RUDD)
