�FASTEST WAY DOWN� (album)
For those who still haven�t heard of hard London rock �n� rollers Drugdealer Cheerleader, you really should know better and be ashamed of yourselves. Mmm, I bet if I mentioned Iron Maiden then eyebrows would start twitching.
The mighty Maiden are one reference point to initially compare this 3-piece�s angularly brash, chugtastic music to, but while Maiden have long wanked around with their songs and come out with 32-minute song epics (as great as they are), DDCL benefit hugely from the set-fast fact that they are so concise in their songwriting and in �getting to the point.�
What I mean is that the first time you hear any one of their songs you are instantly reeled-in and are sure to be singing along as soon as you hear the track again, their hooks are that melodically memory-penetrating.
As we all know though, a hard rock �n� roll band can�t rely on riffs alone � so thank versatile vocal chords for the band�s frontman in the hugely energetic Hilda who�s gruffly strong voice heaves magnificently over �Playing With A Razor,� into the great chorus hook and quirkily greed-centred �Give Give Give Me More More More,� a track which has spurned some degree of fame for these guys.
If you watch �Nickelodeon� you might recognize this track as it�s the theme tune to funky cartoon �Meet The Moores,� and is actually a Wonder Stuff track, however much these �Dealers have made it their own.
�Disneyize� is the highlight however as Hilda sings passionately of craziness, being wild, never having loved at all - and only childs� and there�s even a chirpy Take That-pioneered �C�mon C�mon C�mon� chant!
�Secrets� meanwhile is already no stranger to the wise music followers who have purchased the �Glamage� compilation album (see www.glamage.tk for more details) in admirable promotion of nationwide underground talent, as this anthem features on there with bold pride.
The drugdealing and cheerleading aside, these guys had best stick to their day jobs so long as that means they�re writing and performing with as much ego-deflated gusto as at-present.
