So Haven have been AWOL for what seems like ages and are now edging back into our consciousness, claiming their music �should� sound a little different given the time they�ve spent in the US that�s forced them to mature as people - and their music to mature as a direct consequence.
Similarly, Crackout have been away. Well - they�ve at least been avoiding the limelight and hanging round their base of Buckingham (singer Steven Eagles says he couldn�t imagine re-locating him and his 2 comrades to the hustling capital) while fervently writing, perfecting and recording their second album.
Unlike Haven however, Crackout�s premier showcase of their new material in �Out Of Our Minds� (�Watch your mouth!�) is remarkably different, especially to much of their earlier, grungier output. Here they�re indulging with hell of a bass-line, a smattering of Ska-fun and a funky as fuck vibe that�s as easy to please as a million-quid win on the Lottery.
Short, sweet and damn harmonious (but less about the singer and more about the band�s music in general!�) at only 2 minutes and 20 sex long, it�s fun-fun-fun and an undeniably refreshing and original sound for this 3-piece with more versatile and multi-influenced talent than a horde of Mensa-meddling porn stars who can speak 5 languages simultaneously. And who still make sense. 4/5
