Clayton's Burning Man - Pictures of People Taking Pictures

Why do I think pictures of people taking pictures are so interesting (and amusing)? Perhaps it is a relection of myself as a Photographer... Why do we take pictures, and how do we choose to shoot what we do? I remember being on a group trip to India, and at each tourist spot everyone would get out their cameras, shoot the scene, and get back on the bus. I would not take those pictures-I felt vaguely like my memory would then not be unique; that if I took exactly the same picture as everyone else, there would be nothing to make the moment special. A decision to take a picture is usually made when you want to make something more memorable or permenant. There are an infinity of moments and ways this can be accomplished. By taking others' pictures, I get to steal their photo, a glimpse of their reality... and maybe even their memory! Sneaky, huh?
