Here we see Bush embodying the spirit of the creator of
scapegoats--using a popular crazy-making technique called the
"mixed message." An often used example of this
technique is the phrase, "Don't do as I do--do as I
say!" This phrase comes to mind in viewing this cartoon. The
confusion and anxiety created by such messages WILL cause
children to act out (thus creating allegedly "Bad
Babies"). This then allows parents to project their
unprocessed psychic debris into their children so they can
"justify" punishing them. Again, Bush Junior is seen as
a representative of the older psychoclass.
Showing him as the cowboy also again ties him to Reagan.
