One problem was the old 72-pin and the game contacts would cause a reaction and give the Blinking Power Light Of Death. Blowing on the game contacts would not work. Nintendo made a game cleaner but that didn't really work. Finally, there was a new 72-pin connecter that would not cause a reaction, that you can find on eBay.
