Rating: ** 1/4 [Chris Harris interfered against Simon Diamond.] Jyushin Lyger, Red and Ron Killings defeated Kurt Angle, Danny Doring and Roadkill when Lyger pinned Doring after an inside cradle in 0:18:49. Rating: ** 3/4 Card rating: ** 1/2 Match observations: [Vintage Champinoship Wrestling's logo appears on the screen then fades off to scenes of last weeks show concentrating mainly on Diamond and Swinger, demolishing Kazarian and James Storm. The camera comes on to the audience showing several people holding up song that say I have a problem with Simon. The crowd is jacked up and ready for the 4th installment of VCW's flag ship show, Hard Knocks.] Al Johnston: Welcome every one to a brand new week of Vintage Championship wrestling. I'm Al Johnston and with me as always is "The Original Player" Johnny Gorgeous... and Johnny, I see you're dressed to the nines tonight. JG: Of course I am Al. When you look as good as I do, what would you expect? I'm ready for tonight, I'm ready to see more of Simon Diamond and of course Johnny Swinger. The two men who are on a roll and destroying anything and everyone who gets in their way. I love it, reminds me of me. AJ: Yeah, i can see the similarities between you all. JG: That better not be a dig at me Johnston, or I'll turn you into a pretzel. AJ: Of course it wasn't Johnny.. uhh anyway unfortunatley we have some bad news to pass on to the viewers of VCW. From the actions of Johnny Swinger and Simon Diamond last week, we will be without James Storm and Frankie Kazarian as both are trying to heal up after the brutal beatings last week. Both have minor concusions. JG: Ha... wusses, I'd have never sat out for a concussion. Then again, nobody is quite as manly as me either. So what would I expect? AJ: We also are without the services of The Sandman this week after Pillman went spastic on him last week, and he will be out for the PPV as well healing up after that vicious attack. JG: What did we do here in this company, hire a bunch of pansies? Let me tell you something Johnston, when your a wrestler, you have to expect things liket his to happen. This is a disgrace to our profession. AJ: Johnny, Storm and Kazarian could put themselves in serious danger with a head injury! And Sandman is in the hospital still!! JG: Ha, pansies I say. AJ: Given that though, we do have news to pass along concering our first PPV extravaganza, Old School, in just 2 days. The card is set and we'll pass it along to you right now... Scott Hall, and the Rock will meet up one on one, to try and settle things the only way a wrestler knows how. JG: Hall is going to bury the Rock, and show him who the real champion of the people is. AJ: Then we have our 8 participants for the American Title tournament to be held that night, crowning our first ever American Champion. Round 1 matches... Brian Pillman meets Shane Douglas. JG: I always liked the Franchise, but with a sadistic man like Pillman I don't know if he can get it done. AJ: Kazarian returns at the ppv to settle the score with Chris The Bambikiller who skipped out on their match under some fishy circumstances last week here on hard knocks. JG: Fishy? The man had a legitiment injury, don't be so biased Al. For crying out loud, it's a good thing one of us isn't so partisan. AJ: Uh, indeed Johnny. Primetime will meet up with a hot Kid Kash who has been so to speak, taking everyone to the bank lately. JG: Kid Kash is the hottest thing in VCW right now there is no denying that and Elix Skipper hsa been on a bit of a roll himself, but of course he doesn't have what it takes to be a man as crafty as Kid Kash. AJ: Now who's being biased? JG: Biased? I'm the color man Al, and I always tell it like it is. AJ: ER... finally the final match of the first round will be Jyushin Lyger vs. Kurt Angle, and Johnny, you had words with Kurt earlier tonight about the match and what did he have to say? JG: Well just that he's the only true american hero, so who would be more fitting to be the American Champion? He also said that Lyger being in the tournament is a disgrace because he isn't even Ameriacn, and I can't argue the fact. Lyger doesn't belong here anyway, this is not his cup of tea, and I'm sure Angle will make short work of him. AJ: Then we get what has been built into a huge rivalry, and is turning into a very bitter feud, Americas Most Watned, meets The Problem Solvers in a world tag title match up under no dq rules. JG: This is the one I'm looking forward to the most, I can't wait to see Diamond and Swinger finally shut up the two pretty boys. No DQ is right up Simon and Johnny's alley. Storm better make sure he is well rested when he comes back. These guys are unstopable right now. AJ: I can't argue with that, but they have taken things to far lately and earlier, we heard from a very angry Chris Harris, who is here alone tonight to meet up with Chris The Bambikiller... lets take you to those comments. [Harris is standing in the back in front of a VCW logo and looking very focused.] Harris: I'm here alone tonight. No partner. Just me. Why? Because a couple of out of control punks, are running around VCW like they own the damn place, when EVERYONE here knows that the titles they hold are nothing more than a joke. They didn't beat anyone, they were just handed to them after a fluke doulbe count out. That's fine though, Diamond, Swinger, because we know the truth, but it doesn't matter, in the last 2 weeks you have managed to beat my partner into a concusion, and because of that he can't be here tonight, you did the same thing to Kazarian. I hope your proud of yourselves, but boys, you better watch out, because you just pissed me and my partner off, he may not be here this week, but come the ppv, we are putting those titles where they belong, around our waists, and we are going to show you what it's like, to have your ass beaten. Mark my words Problem Solvers, your problems are just begining. AJ: Strong words from a VERY angry Chris Harris. JG: Too bad thats the only thing strong about him. He will have his hands full tongiht. AJ: Finally the main event for the ppv will be for the world title, and maybe settle this thing between Red and Jericho as well. A 3 way match for the title as Rob Van Dam takes on Red and Chris Jericho. JG: Jericho is hungry, and I can only hope, that he gets rid of that air head champ we have now. Cuz i can't stand listening to him talk. AJ: Do you have to rag on everyone? JG: Yeah I do, until everyone is as great as me, i will continue to do so, especially you. AJ: [Sighs] lets get to the first match of the night.... The First match is Chris Harris vs. Chris The Bambikiller amazingly Swinger and Diamond did not come down during the match to interfere letting Harris and The Bambikiller to wrestle a great match up. The two went back and forth till finally Harris got the advantage and nailed Bambikiller with a spear, he made the cover and got the 1 2 3. But after having his arm raised, Swinger and Diamond came down to ring side. Harris didn't back down, and in fact taunted the two men to come in and get him. Swinger and Diamond went to either side of the ring and the Bambikiller got back up as well, all 3 men were on the outside looking to come after him as he stood in the middle of the ring, but then Simon motioned for the othe two men to come to the side by the aisle, turning to Harris in the ring, Simon smiled and then the 3 walked off leaving Harris looking confused int he middle of the ring, and confusing most of the crowd as well. AJ: What was that all about? They just left him! JG: Well maybe they want to save him for the ppv. AJ: I suppose that's possible, it just seemed strange. I would think they were going to try and weaken him up. That seems to be the MO of The Problem Solvers and The Bambikiller as well. JG: You don't know anything do you Johnston. I think I might smell a rat here. AJ: What are you talking about? JG: You wouldn't know so don't hurt yourself. AJ: Whatever Johnny. It's time for the second match of the evening Shane Douglas and Chris Chetti meet up to face a red hot Kid Kash who is once again tagging with Damian 666 Should be a good match up. Kash and Damian get the win again after Kash nails Chetti with the Money in the Bank, for the second straight week Kash gets the better of a team against Chetti and apparently it was too much for Chetti to take as after the match he tried to go back after Kash but was cut of by Damian 666 and taken down. Kash and Damian left the ring and left Chetti upset at ringside. The third match of the evening was a classic wrestling match between Primetime and Chris Jericho. Spawning from their altercation the previous week and the 3 way dance match against Lyger, the two men came at eachother and left nothing on the table. Jericho got an early advantage over Skipper hitting im with a barrage of forearms then taking him to the corner and beating his head to the turnbuckle. After dominating the first minute of the match, Primetme kicked out of a pinning atempt and then caught Jericho with a reversal on an irish whip, and i turned the tide of the match. Primetime looked in good shape and will definatley be a favorite for the American title tournament with how he performed. But payback was coming to Jericho in the form of "The Amazing" Red. He came to ringside, and just stared down Jericho, who got himself distracted and then turned into a flying cross body from Primetime. It sealed the deal with a 1 2 3, and afer Primetime exited the ring, Red got in the ring and shoved an already Irate Chris Jericho, who shoved back, the two began brawling until security came down to split them up. Later in the back Jericho was overheard saying he was going to get the color boy later on. Match number 4 was a huge match up between The Problem Solvers and The Rock and Rob Van Dam. The world champion teaming with The Rock seemed to be a sure fire way to stop the momentum of The PRoblem Solvers. The match almost went to the time limit but Chris Harris got himself involved in the end of the match, tripping up Simon Diamond, the ref called for the bell. RVD and The ROck were not very happy with Harris but he didn't seem to care as he was hell bent on trying to get to Diamond and Swinger. The two just laughed and walked away though leaving an irate Harris in the middle of the ring arguing with two angry superstars. AJ: What is going on with this, Swinger and Diamond don't seem one bit concerned with Chris Harris at all. I don't understand it. JG: Of course you don't Johnston, its above you. You've never been in the ring. Jeez you think the years you spent working along side Crusher and Nabisco, you would have learned something. AJ: I learned plenty, especially about alcohol from Lenny, but thats beside the point. Something isn't right here. JG: I told you I smell a rat. AJ: Yeah and you also didn't explain what you meant by that. JG: Patience my friend. Patience. AJ: We have one more match to go, it's a huge 6 man tag, Lyger Red and Ron Killings to meet Doring and Roadkill who are teaming up with Kurt Angle. Should be a great match up lets take you to ring side! The main event is a prety solid match. Angle started things off against Lyger and insulting him on the mic in front of the crowd. Lyger kept his cool though and the two men put on a clinic forthe audience in wrestling. A solid match up and should make for a great first round match at the ppv. As the match pogressed, Lyger/Red and Killings seemed to have the upper hand, but making good on his promise from earlier, Chris Jericho appeared at ringside, and sat down in the corner in a chair to observe what was going on. This of course got Red's attention but he didn't leave his post in the corner. After a while though Jericho got tired of watching, and went over by red, grabbed his ankle and yanked him down off the corner. The two started shoving eachother and Killings got down to help Red. Lyger was in the ring with Doring. Roadkill and Angle went over to see what was going on on the otherside of the ring leaving Doring and Lyger partnerless, the outside turned into a big brawl, with Jericho and Red right in the middle clobbering eachother, officials stormed ringside again to try to stop the comotion but the match continued as Lyger and Doring went back and forth. Doring tried to go for the turnbuckles, but Lyger rolled him up with an inside cradle to get the quick victory. After the bell rang the carnage out side the ring spilled back into the ring, with Jericho and Red still going at it. Jericho got Red in the walls of jericho, thats when Primetime showed up, and clobbering Jericho with a drop kick to the head. Red slid out of the ring to the outside in a great deal of pain. JG: Who THE HELL does Primetime think he is? He needs to keep his nose out of this. This is none of his buisness. It's between Red and Jericho. He had his match earlier! AJ: Apparenlty he isn't finished with Jericho! Jericho's comments about Red were not accurate at all and most people in the locker room know that and I think Primetime is just sick of seeing Jericho pick on Red! JG: OH boo hoo! Red can't stick up for himself? He's a big boy, this is wrestling. We don't need no wet nurses like Primetime. It ain't like he and Red are friends. I think he just is out to get Jericho! AJ: I just think he doesn't like what Jericho stands for. The fight on the outside continues though and we are out of time for this week goodnight everybody!!! See you Sunday at the PPV!
