| You come to the edge of a deep forest. Trees of all kinds thrive, and wildflowers bloom, covering the ground in a carpet of color. A sparkling river comes to its end at the top of a pile of boulders, crashing down to a clear pool, sending silver spray everywhere. You hear a soft growl behind you, and you spin around. Facing you is a gorgeous feline. He has silky dark fur with beautiful lighter markings, all in shades of grey, and blends in against the dark forest background. |
| The feline sits, waving four tails and looking at you. He has bright odd colored eyes, one green and one blue. "Hello, he says softly, cheerfully. I'm Ikuuna. Who are you?" You stare. "I'm. . .uh. . .a visitor. . ." Ikuuna sits and looks back up at you, eyes gleaming brightly. "So, what brings you here?" he asks politely. "I-I don't know..." you stammer. "Ah, it's okay. You're the first visitor I've had in awhile." Ikuuna sighs heavily and wanders over to a nearby tree, climbs it, and lounges calmly in its branches. He looks down at you and smiles. "First time to see a Raveen Kat?" You manage to nod. The Kat smiles at you. "Ah. That would explain it then, wouldn't it? The look of surprise on your face." He looks at you through his blue and green eyes, flicking an occasional tail. A butterfly comes out of nowhere and lands on his nose. "Drat," you hear the kat mutter, wrinkling his nose. He makes a strange face, trying to hold back a sneeze, but fails. "AAAACHOOOOO!" The butterfly disappears, but the force of the sneeze sends Ikuuna rolling off the branch, landing in a pile of leaves. Sticking his head out, he climbs out of the pile and shakes off the leaves. You find it somewhat hard to believe that such a graceful creature could be so. . . clumsy. Flittering back guiltily, the butterfly lands on Ikuuna's ear, where he tries to glare at it. Flicking the ear, he sends the butterfly winging off. "Butterflies are strange creatures. Believe me," he tells you, glaring at the slowly disappearing butterfly and sticking his tongue out at it. Turning back to you, he smiles a little, then laughs. "Well, I suppose you must be on your way then. . . By the way, there is now another Kat residing here as well. His name is Lairuun. I suggest you be very careful around him," he murmurs. You turn to say goodbye, but he has already melted back into the shadows. |
