Or Des, as he is known, is a Gnome of peculiar habits. He carries himself almost darkly, as if he is a Gnome of danger. Of secrets and an unfathomed depth. A short Gnome who stands at roughly 3 feet, 6 and 3/27 inches. The colour of his eyes are hidden behind thick, darkly tinted glasses and his face is extremely pale from an unfortunate experiment with a handful of electically charged dust, and a wand's darkness spell. His hair is exactly long enough to touch either shoulder if he tilts his head 38 degrees to either side, and its the colour of a clear night sky, 32 minutes and 16 seconds before dawn. He wears a black jacket that reaches three and 1/2 inches below his knees, made of leather, which has been scarred and discoloured through fifteen years, 5 months worth of failed experiments and fighting. Under that he wears a simple undyed wool shirt, and brown leather breeches, which tuck into thick soled high boots, made of the same material as his jacket seemingly, in both discolourization and rips. A belt wraps around his waist, with a pocket on the right side, with strange and exotic tools safely kept inside. Directly opposite of this is an even stranger and more exotic blade, ending in almost an arrowhead shape, with small serraded edges on one side. Arranged elsewear on his belt are small pouchs of other, needful items. And he always seems to carry with him a large dufflebag, which is full, and strangely heavy. Des' personality is reflected by his LifeQuest, which is, quite simply, to destroy Magic in all its forms. Few of his colleages expect him to succeed, for this is fighting the very gods themselves, but ever since the age of ten, after graduating from GnomishBasicEducation and AdvancedGnomishBasicEducation I-IX, Des has worked and studied in all the subjects he needs to complete his destiny. He knows much about the ways of the occult, mages, and the Gods, as well as battle tactics, fighting techniques, and even assassination. A thinking Gnome's warrior. Now, of course, a simple solution would be to destroy the physical avatars of the Dieties of magic, and to this aim he keeps an ear out for future expeditions to the three moons, as well as any major advances in the science of explosive technology and sapping. In the meantime however, he regrets the taking of life, but sacrifice must be made, and he seeks to destroy every practitioner of the Arte that he can, and secure his plans to destroy magic without interferance by mages. In person, he is cool and calculating, though as technical and aloof as any other Gnome. He thinks all the time of the future, making complex plans affecting the outcome of a target mage's life, and the eventual complete destruction og Magic.. Weapons: Short sword. It's odd shape and edge is meant to be as damaging to flesh as possible. While somewhat more fragile then other swords, it is not meant to come up against other steel, and was chosen specifically for fighting mages, and killing them. Bolt Box. This is a long metal box, with a hole on one end, a crank on the right side, an eyepeice on the left, and a fold-out handle on the bottom. Inside this box is a odd contraption simialer to a crossbow, and in fact, is what it is, though heavily modified. The crossbow itself is placed on one's shoulder, cranked, aimed, and fired. Then it reloads itself from a supply of bolts previously placed inside. Magic-Away. A staticly charged pouchful of magnetic dust, that when thrown into the air before a spell is cast, will create a field that dampens magic. A d5 is rolled, and a modifier of -1 is taken from that roll. That number is the amount of spell-levels it can nullify harmlessly. Anything above a fourth level spell, or above that roll, is unaffected. A zero causes the spell to take effect with twice as much damage, or length of affect. |
