I'm opinionated. In print, even.
Writings.

Je suis née en même temps que le soleil. I am, by no stretch of the imagination, a good writer, but these are some samples of my writing that I find amusing, at the very least. You may have noticed that there isn't much here. Well, as it turns out, I hate writing, so I don't do it very often, unless the mood strikes me, which it very infrequently does.

Even though I find my work somewhat crappy at best, it would be greatly appreciated if you didn't take my work and claim it's yours. Of course, I have no way of knowing whether you do such a heinous thing, and the honor system is a crock, so really, what's the point of me saying anything?

Haiku
Pretty self-explanatory. I wrote some haiku because I felt like it.

Stream of consciousness
This is an English assignment I did shortly after reading Faulkner's As I Lay Dying my senior year of high school. (29 April 2001; grade: A)

Old Maid or Why I Am Averse to Marriage and Children
I wrote this one night after thinking about what everyone's said to me about my not wanting to get married or have children.

Those Clever Scots
This is an assignment I did for my freshman writing seminar at Cornell. The writing prompt: "...write an article about [the Edinburgh Foodball study] (max. 600 words) for your fellow students to read in The Cornell Daily Sun." "The Edinburgh Foodball study" refers to a scientific paper we had to read about an invention called, oddly enough, the Edinburgh Foodball. Further instructions from my professor were to "decide what aspects of the scientific paper are relevant to this type of audience, then write an article that will be interesting to read but which also provides accurate information on the study, why it was done, and its applications." (27 November 2001; grade: 6/6)

Evolution of Boob Tube = Devolution of Reading
My first COMM 120 assignment basically asked (taken from here), "So, do we read more or less? Do we publish more or less? Is the culture of reading dying? Is reading less entertaining than it used to be?" I essentially had to investigate the effect of some electronic medium on people's reading habits, so I chose television. (23 September 2002; grade: A-)
