I'm not sure why I continue with this endeavor, considering I don't update or anything. But I wanted something different, and Le Petit Prince is one of my favorite books, so that's how the home page came about. I wanted the other pages to have a different layout, but I spent hours putting the home page together, though you may never have guessed it, because it's nothing ridiculously awesome. Anyhoozle, below is a list of previous versions of this site.
L'endroit de ChexMix01
This was pretty horrible in terms of HTML know-how, now that I think about it. I mean, it had a black background and everything -- yuck. I believe it was hosted by The Globe, which was primarily a chat place that took over WBS, another chat place. I went to WBS a lot (as ChexMix01 and later a sad tomato) and made a lot of friends that I haven't talked to since, but never really got into The Globe, except to maintain a web site. I don't remember what was on the site, except for a huge page of Newsies links that now resides at my Newsies web site.
Chikin Limbo
I learned a bit more HTML and started messing with tables. The background was one of those with some type of image running along the left side (I used one with bubbles, I think) and the rest is blank, so that's where the text goes. Started using one of those short, redirect URLs (http://come.to/chikin.limbo). The name came from a children's game, if I remember correctly, with the spelling C-H-I-K-I-N coming from Chick-fil-A ("EAT MOR CHIKIN"). Not as horrible as L'endroit de ChexMix01.
Wacky Delly
Basically, Wacky Delly was Chikin Limbo but with a different name. I may have used a different background image (there was a checkerboard pattern instead of bubbles). Also, I think I had an index page that featured a different quote or song lyric every time I updated. Continued using short, redirect URL (http://surf.to/wacky.delly). The name came from an episode of "Rocko's Modern Life" in which Rocko, Heffer, and Filburt make their own cartoon called "Wacky Delly."
algophobia
Not a bad-looking site. I used horizontal frames -- gasp! I guess this was a somewhat bleaker part of my life, considering the title of the site (meaning an abnormal fear of pain), the color scheme (lots of gray), and my affiliation with antisocial.com. It was hosted by Lunarpages, which is a decent host, but their free area ran into problems so I had to move. The content was better; it more closely resembled the current content. Also, I used pictures of Murdock from "The A-Team" on the main page. It was during this time that I got a DeadJournal. Still used short, redirect URL (http://algophobia.tsx.org/ and then http://algophobia.xrs.net/).
tee kay gee (the Japanese/French era) - version ε
08.01.02 (I think) - 01.18.03. I thought about dumping the personal web site idea, because it takes too much effort. After finally deciding to continue to go with it, I went back to GeoCities after swearing never to use them again. My genius theme: my initials, my Japanese origins, and my favorite foreign language (French). Started using Greek letter to represent version of site. Content was pretty much the same as it is now. I switched to vertical frames, put up more stuff (e.g., all my midis, quiz results), and got rid of the mostly-cartoon pictures I had, opting for digital photography. Toward the end of this version, I started making my own online quizzes. I still like the theme, but it bored me enough that I had to change it.
tee kay gee (the Zodiac era) - version ζ
01.18.03 - 05.21.03. No new, exciting HTML tricks. I've always thought being a Scorpio was cool, but I recently became kind of obsessed with it, so I decided to make it the new theme. The colors are softer than those of version ε, and while I don't really think I'm a pastel type of person, I like the colors. I kind of wanted to change more things, like the layout and the fonts I used, but I had to reformat my computer when I got back for the spring semester, so I didn't really feel like doing that much work. I stuck with using my initials for the site's title. Not sure when I'll grow tired of that, or the Zodiac thing. Only time will tell.
tee kay gee (primaries) - version η
05.21.03 - 09.28.03. I'm almost regressing here as far as HTML coolness goes, but I like plain and simple. Plain and simple gets the job done without annoying anyone. I'm not much for primary colors, but I didn't go for straight blue, red, and yellow, so I think it looks all right. Different shades are okay. I'm still going with "tee kay gee" as a site name, which admittedly I'm growing tired of, but I couldn't come up with anything witty enough to suit my taste, so a new site name will have to wait. It's better than nothing, I guess, because I was considering just trashing the site.
k i c k p r o o f
09.28.03 - 08.26.04. It's amazing the site was still around at all, because I got tired of the whole thing. The graphics were kinda big and clumsy, like the kid who gets laughed at in grade school. I took the graphics from Microsoft Word clip art, then threw some stuff together in Adobe PhotoShop 7.0. Frankly, it sucked.
