this was a xanga comment to one of my old associates.

lol, dont worry. although i hate those suffixes and those bs words that mean nothing, that xanga post wasnt directed towards you. theres a group of morons that use them to nausiating excess. i have a theory about the new management. debbie and missy are friends. they want to hire "their people"...ie hook their white trash bitchy friends with low paying jobs.

as for how i was set up: i had asked for wednsday and friday off. i was given friday off, but not wednsday. i told her (alexis, mainly) a week and a half in advance that i needed wednsday off. i also talked to a girl i didnt know and missy. my requests were ignored, so i called up on wedsday saying "i cant work tonight. i told you weeks in advance, we are no longer overstaffed, you will need to find a replacement."

"so, you are calling me at the time you are supposed to work, telling me you cant come in today?" missy says

"no, i told you weeks ago."

"i am counting this as a no call no show"

she then told me to drop off my key. she said we were understaffed and that i had to realize that in a job there were a lot of responsibilities. when i told her that in the year that i was with the company, i have not asked for a single day off, she told me it didnt matter what i did b4 and that i was still a no call no show. and also, when i told her that i had closed on my own the saturday before because, again, she had scheduled people on days they could not come in, she told me that 3rd key had a lot of responsibility and that no call no show is unacceptable.

yes, our missy is a very coherent manager.

thursday, i show up for work. alexis does not let me clock in. she says im not working today. i check the schedule...my hours are scratched off. and i also notice new information on this schedule...that i was scheduled to work on friday (if you remember b4, i was given this day off). suspicious as all hell, though i supposed it didnt make a difference since that was scratched off.

"What the hell is going on?"
"oh, yea. i guess you were scheduled to work tonight. missy crossed it off because you arent allowed to work the rest of the week because you were a no call no show yesterday."

punishment? fuck this. im calling debbie, i think. i looked up in the store directory every store in her district, couldnt reach her. left an angry message.

i didnt show up the rest of the week, called sunday morning.  missy picked up.

"when am ii working next."

"see, you need to talk to debbie about that. you were a no call no show for three days."

ok, lets pause here for a second. three days? first of all, i wasnt a no call no show at all. i called weeks in advance for that day off. second, i SHOWED UP READY FOR WORK on thurday and i was told i couldnt. friday, i asked for it off and i was given it off. someone (missy) penciled it in (very very recently), knowing i couldnt work that day. and i was told i couldnt work on saturday also. and, she herself crossed off three days.

if this isnt a set up i dont know what is.

when i told her all this (minus the set up thing) she said "you came in on thursday?"
"yes"
"and my hours were crossed off. alexis said you crossed it off"
"alexis isnt with us anymore."
"yes but you crossed it off"
"because you were a no call no show on wedns"
"so how is that three days all of a sudden?"

she then proceded to explain to me that if i couldnt handle the responsibilities of a third key, then i would have to consider if this job was right for me. actually, it was said more like this:

"so, what you are telling me is that you dont want to work for us anymore?"

someones a little anxious to fire me. well, i talked to debbie about all this on monday. i told her how long ive worked, what ive accomplished, promotions, goals, bonuses and whatnot. i told her the management (missy) was the sloppiest ive seen in a long time (and i have seen a lot of management) and that her incompetent scheduling has left people closing on their own on weekends and having people work double shifts. AND we are NOT understaffed.

i suppose expressing these concerns wasnt a good idea, since debbie and missy are good friends. she told me that being a 3rd key required a lot of responsibility and that if i couldnt handle it that i would have to consider if claires was right for me.

tuesday, i quit over the phone. missy laughed at me.

and that is my story of workplace politics.

and btw. why the fuck was she getting her ears pierced, at peak hours on a friday night? and i am almost positive she did not pay for it.

write me back, i am really interested as to what you think of all this.

oh and btw. if you were wondering why she thought i was racheal, that is because she never actually saw me except when i dropped off the key. she didnt even know how i looked like, let alone how i worked.

oh and another thing, alexis set me up b4...but that isnt related to why i quit. she set me up by messing up closing procedures that i did the night b4 in the morning. paperwork, drawer count, other procdures. luckily, lisa didnt trust her one bit.
