Sam wanted to see how far they could stretch his realism into Dave's cartoony style.

The second appearance of Dave was in The Maxx #30 (May 1997) Dave drew and co-wrote the "Fred Flower and Uncle Italian Moose Show" which was a tv show that one of the characters in the comic was watching. It's a show about a flower and his immigrant atheist moose roommate. In this episode, Fred Flower decides they need money, so he goes back on his promise to Uncle Italian Moose, he makes Uncle Italian Moose get a job. But when Uncle Italian Moose gets injured at the factory, what hell does Fred have to go through?
