Attend the I-66 Public Meetings this Mon. & Tues.
BRING YOUR SIGNS TO ADD TO THE PUBLIC COMMENTS!
SIGN MAKING WORKSHOP in the DBNF, London this Sunday 2pm-??? Dinner will be served so come hungry & bring a dish to share.
Want to attend? Email me at [email protected] or call 877-9912.
What I want to know is where are all the people who, when 80 was built, they made sure to route it through the smallest area of the DBNF. What is different now? The DBNF boundry has been proclaimed by US Congress. What is different now that makes it ok to take National Forest Property for an interstate highway?
The DEIS says that the major industry in London is Mining. The fact is that Mining is 0.2% of industry. It says that the area needs to be opened up, oh poor us...there's no road to get out of town! In fact 80 is a fine road that I drive to Corbin EVERY DAY! 80 to I-75-ITS REAL QUICK!!!
In my case, I-66 won't make it faster for me to get where I'm going...I would have to drive way out of my way to get onto it! And besides, I like to support businesses along 80. IF I-66 ever gets built, I feel sorry for the businesses along 80 I-66 will take their customers away. It will also drive business away from downtown London, I don't understand whay they were so excited to pass an I-66 endorsement. It will take people away from our downtown.
