Her eyes opened seemingly of their own accord.
What had woken her? The room suddenly lit with brilliant flashes
of lightening followed almost immediately by and ear-piercing crash of
thunder.
She glanced at the figure at her side.
Amazingly Vegeta was sleeping soundly, and hadn’t so much as twitched
as the storm continued to rage. She snorted in annoyance.
Go figure, she could sneeze and wake him up but thunder and lightening
that made the window panes rattle had no effect on him. She
sighed and snuggled closer to him. Truth be told, she hated
lightening. Thunder sometimes startled her, but she’d always been
scared of lightening. Thunder couldn’t hurt you.
None-the-less, and bolt of lightening struck so
close to the house that she was momentarily blinded and the thunderclap
that followed was virtually simultaneous. She squeaked in alarm
and abruptly felt strong arms encircle her, giving her a reassuring
squeeze.
“Silly onna.” Vegeta murmured in her ear.
“Afraid of a little stormy weather?” Bulma smiled and burrowed
further into his embrace. The momentary fear she’d felt
evaporated as she clung to him. She planted a soft kiss on his
cheek and saw his lips curve up in the darkness.
“Not anymore.”
