I am 23 years old - I was born January 3rd, 1981, and am a Capricorn. Click here for some information on my astrological background. I was supposed to be born on January 1st, but unfortunately I came 2 days late, shattering my mother's dream of having a New Year's baby. :P I live in Canada, known to the rest of the world as "The Great White North", and I'm in the province of Ontario. By the way, we DO have summer here, and Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world, next to Russia. I am currently studying to be a teacher at Lakehead University, majoring in History. I find the lives of the people who lived long ago rather interesting. I am in my fourth year..only a year and a half!! BWAHAHAHAAH!!!
*clears throat and looks around* Ahem. Anyways...
I have wanted to be a teacher since a few years ago, when I had a co-op position in a grade 3 class. I had always known that I wanted to work with kids - I have 10 little cousins all under the age of 11, so I get to babysit alot. I don't think I had much choice but to like kids. ^_~ Anyways, my co-op position showed me that I really liked teaching children. So here I am at University, learning up on how to teach the little darlings. This year I have my first placement (next semester).
My true dream, however, is to be a writer. I can think back to when I was about six or seven years old and I would go on car rides with my grandparents. I would have a little notebook with me that I would scribble furiously in. Since then I have always had some kind of writing on the go. You can find examples of my work here and also on Fiction Alley under the name Kiaralee. Right now I am mainly writing fanfiction, but my dream is that someday I will publish a book of my own.
When I am not in school, I live in a teeny tiny dot on the map in Southern Ontario. There are only about 3000 people there (yes, for all you city dwellers, there are places that small), and I have lived there since I was 3. I live with my grandparents, (long story why, so don't bother asking) and I have 2 sisters who live about an hour and a half away from me, they are both younger than me. Their names are Kristy (who's 21) and Toni (who's 19) I don't get to see them very often, but I love them to death.
I also have two kitties. Well, I do, although one of them died. Pipsqueak, one half of the twins that we had, died this previous June. She was only four years old, and it was hard. The two of them were very close - both black with a few white hairs on their chests, and a white "v" in between their back legs. We found them out in our backyard when their mother brought them there when they were just babies. She was a calico cat, and they had a brother too, who was orange. At first we were just feeding them and trying to tame them down a bit, but then when their brother got hit and killed by a car, I made my grandparents catch them and take them to the Humane Society. But then we missed them too much, so we adopted them. Now, however, we have another kitty as well. We got her about a month after Pipsqueak died. Her name is Jellybean, and she is grey and white with a small pink nose. We gave her that name in honour of her nose and the fact that she was found out behind a bakery.

I have many other interests. I love going to the mall or the movies, going out to the bar and just drinking and dancing the night away with all of my buddies. I also love music of all different kinds, not only for listening, but I also play the piano, flute, clarinet, trumpet and saxophone. I love to read books of all kinds, although my favourites are fantasy novels (such as Dragonlance). I also love learning about ancient civilizations such as Rome, Egypt, and Europe. And I'm sure there are many other things that are just not choosing to make their presence known in my brain right now!! lol
