Kiara has really been growing up a lot lately. She is getting pretty good at potty training, she sleeps in a big bed now, and she is a really good big sister to Indigo (her favorite thing is helping to change Indigo's diaper and then pulling out every single wipe and putting them in a big pile on the floor). She loves going to the park where she pretty much ignores the little kids playground and goes right for the big slide. She also loves to go the beach where she can splash in the water and dig in the sand.

For Labor Day weekend we had a fun trip to New York. We spent time with family on Long Island and then stayed in the city for a couple of days. Kiara got to ride on the big ferris wheel at the Toys R US in Times Square and go for a carriage ride through Central Park.

Just updated Kiara's site with some pictures from Easter and the 4th of July. Take a look - She has really grown a lot in the last few months. Also the big news around here is the arrival of Kiara's new sister Indigo. You can check out her website here.

Kiara's made her modeling debut this week on the Tommy Hilfiger website. There have also been spottings of her picture in numerous department stores. You can see her picture here.

Happy New Year! What an exciting year this will be for Kiara. Already she is seeming so old: walking around and communicating in her own little way. Some days we feel that she has already reached those terrible twos. We affectionately call her our little whirlwind. She loves to be busy and will only sit still if she is strapped into her high-chair watching a Baby Einstein video. Kiara's goals this year are to feed herself with a fork and spoon (she has always been good at stuffing food into her mouth with her hands but we are trying to get a little more civilized) and to be potty trained by the time her little brother or sister arrives in June. Christmas was a lot of fun for the Kiara this year (especially compared to last year when she slept through most of it). By the end of the day Kiara was an expert at opening packages and getting a big open-mouth excited look on her face. She got a lot of clothes (including some warmer attire for her upcoming trips to Utah), a bike seat so that she can go on bike rides with her mom, some more books that she can pull off the book shelf onto a big pile on the floor, and of course toys, toys, toys! Today Kiara figured out how to walk. We were over visiting our friends the Hansens when Kiara decided to take a pair of small steps from Teresa to Sharon. After that it was like it all just clicked and she began to stand without holding on to anything and she started taking careful, deliberate steps all around the room. At one point she fell flat on her face and cried but it didn't seem to shake her confidence too much. It was one baby step for Kiara & one giant leap for Kiara-kind.

When we ask Kiara "Where's Santa?" she points at the only Christmas decoration we have put up so far. Now she points at it and says "Ho Ho Ho!"

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Kiara spent Thanksgiving at her Grand-parent's home in North Reddington Beach. She was a little sick with a cold but still had a fun time. She kind of pigged out Thanksgiving morning so by the time the turkey and stuffing was served she didn't want to have anything to do with it. Oh well that just meant more for us. We just posted pictures of the big birthday bash. We had a great time. On the menu for the fish themed party: Tuna fish sandwiches, gold fish crackers, fish shaped cookies and a yummy cake decorated like the ocean with a sail boat on top. We ate, listened to the "Deep Blue Sea" song from the Baby Dolittle video, had a fish pond, opened presents and then went swimming. At the end everyone was ready for a nap (even the parents).

Happy Birthday Kiara!!! Today is Kiara's first birthday, the big 0-1. We are going to have a little party with just the three of us tonight and then have Kiara's friends over tomorrow for a fish themed party. It should be a lot of fun. Look for pictures of the big event in the days to come.

Kiara just got booked to do a modeling job for Next Directory, a British apperal catalog. Their website if you are interested is www.next.co.uk. The photoshoot should take place the first week in December. This will be Kiara's 2nd modeling job. Her first was about a month ago with Tommy Hilfiger. You go girl!

Kiara is turning into the quite the bookworm. She loves for us to read her books and once we are finished she hands the book right back to us to read it again. Her record before getting bored is 10 times.

We are launching this new site for Kiara today. We hope everyone enjoys it. We will try to update it regularly with both pictures and little journal entries when Kiara does something fun. Like today for instance Sharon swears that she heard Kiara say "water" or something like that. And I had a dream last night that she said "fishy". Pretty cool eh?

Kiara made fishy sounds while watching the fish on her "Baby Doolittle" video. That, as well the Target's "Club Wed" and the Checker's "Gotta Eat" TV commercials, are her favorite things to watch on the television.
