| Kia's Tooth Adventure On 9/30/04, 16 year old Kia was diagnosed with an abscessed tooth. Her muzzle had swollen to the point that she looked like a Bull Terrier! Surgery was scheduled for the next morning. Although I was a bit worried about her during the surgery (there's always some risk when a dog is given anesthsia, especially older dogs) I knew internally her system was in wonderful working order for a gal of such......ahem....'advanced' age. And most importantly, I knew she was in good hands under the skillful care of Dr. Jennifer Hale and the staff of Edinburgh Pet Health Center. Kia came through the surgery with flying colors! By the next morning the swelling was starting to go down, and she was obviously feeling more chipper than she had in quite a few days. What a relief! You can see the proof below - before and after pictures. Not only does she look happier and healthier post-surgery, but I could swear she looks younger. Why, she looks like a mere "kid" of 10! My deepest gratitutde to Dr. Lisa Carpenter and Dr. Jennifer Hale of Edinburgh Pet Health Center in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, for their skill and care not only in taking care of Kia, but all my furry family. Dr. Lisa has been our vet for over 12 years, and she and the wonderful staff at Edinburgh (Corrie, Rhonda, Cory, Diane, Karen and the rest), without exception have always been wonderful to deal with. Their concern for each pet, and the expert care they give is evident every time I visit them. Thanks, guys! Hopefully Kia won't be seeing you again TOO soon! |
