Well, I learned very quickly that books don't give you true insight into the world of living with a cockatoo.

Being awoken in the morning by your birdie saying "Hello" is one of the true highlights.  Being awoken out of a dead sleep by your  Too greeting the morning is entirely something else!!!

Another thing I've never been able to get used to is her amazing timing.  She has this remarkable ability to always voice her opinions at the crows that gather outside her window as the most poignant scene of the T.V. show I happen to be watching is playing out.  Not to mention the maniacal laughter that always follows such voicings.

"You see Jake, I'm dying."
