My Computer is acting slow, and locks up frequently, What should I do? What you should do is first lok at the programs you have installed on your computer. Go to the "My Computer" icon on the desktop. Double click on it. Then click on control panel. In the control panel should be a program called "add/remove programs", double click on that. A window will pop-up informing you about all the programs you have installed on your computer. Carefully go through them, any programs that you do not want, simply click on the program once! then click "Remove Program" you should do this for ALL unfamiliar programs and mysterious downloads you have. DON'T simply throw out the folder, you may miss some files or folders. Remember! Don't delete any programs that are windows affiliated or are affiliated with your computer. Only if you know what you are doing. If the computer is still slow, try doing "scan disk" simply click on the start bar, go to programs, the accesories, then system tools, then click on scan disk, it may take a while, but its basically cleaning up the computer from there. If you have even further problems, call up your local computer store. They can help. |
