Still married to Enrique Vassallo, an attorney I met in Dallas. We've been in
LA since 1991, same year we got married. All is good with us; we're spending the
college funds of the children we never had and enjoying ourselves. I'm a
paralegal at Littler Mendelson. We do employment and labor law, and represent
the big companies when they get sued for sexual harassment, age discrimination,
etc. Been doing this forever. I like it and am pretty good at it by now.

in April 2001. Of course that's me on the left, a new friend from Kentucky, Rick Kalvin in the middle from Kewanee class of '73, my husband Enrique in the back, and an ld friend from AZ. We are as toasted as we look. |
Are going to Napa next month for a long weekend, Miami and The Keys for Memorial Day, and 2 weeks in Italy in September. If I can rig it I'll go back for the reunion weekend. But it will be hard to fit in. We actually went to Kewanee for Thanksgiving last year, spent about 5 minutes there and then went back to Chicago to wine and dine. My father-in-law (who lives in Miami) even went.
My mom (Mayme) still has the house on Perkins St., and it even has air conditioning and wall-to-wall carpet in the living room now. She is well, has survived cancer, and is pretty ornery. My dad passed away in 1995, so Mayme's been rambling ever since. She shuttles back and forth between here, Seal Beach and Santa Barbara. Beats shoveling snow, as you say. She's out here now, and will go back to Kewanee next month.
I'll make it back there if I can, but it will be hard to get there in June. Why not Hog Days?
