Dawn will begin her fourteenth year of teaching physical education at Monocacy Middle School. She hung up her high school coaching hat when she had children, but occasionally still coaches her children's sports teams. She plays in a handbell choir at her church and teaches second grade Sunday School. Her husband, Lance ('86), is an electronics engineer in Frederick. He plays softball for their church league team and teaches middle/high school Sunday School.
Their daughter Emily (11) plays soccer year-round and will be entering the middle school where Dawn teaches this fall as a sixth grader. She plays snare drum and piano. Their son Travis (8) is entering third grade this year. He plays soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and baseball in the spring. Dawn has assumed the job of Barbe Transit Authority so that everyone might get where they need to at the correct time.
