We have four cats right now. Ari is the old man of the group at age 14. He was found as an abandoned stray and made himself at home with us! Ari is a brown tuxedo tabby. We found out in 2001 that he is diabetic, and thought a friend would help him with his exercise and so adopted Cassi. She was rescued from the roadside and we adopted her in January, 2002. She is a sable brown/black Persian mix with long hair and a queenly attitude. Ari kinda likes her, but won't admit it, the grump! We got the Boys, Pixel and Leo in the summer of 2002 from the local shelter after helping to rescue some very tiny kittens that were too young to adopt. Pixel is a classic brown tabby with a white chin, and very sweetnatured. A real lap-cat! My daughter picked out Leo because she wanted an orange tabby and because he is polydactyl...he has thumbs on his front paws! He is also a real character, with tons of personality, and talkative too! They make up quite a family and we love them all!
Last year, in 2004 we were finally worn down by our daughter and acquired a collie puppy! He is a pure bred rough collie, blue merle in color, and his call name is Lad. Not very original, but I loved the Trehune collie books growing up, and it seemed to fit him. He turned one this March, and has turned into a beautiful dog! |
