GIDEON HAUNT (avatar of the Atropos Aspect)
The Avatar Gideon Haunt was formerly Mitchell Hall, a secretive, studious type with an uncanny sensitivity to his surroundings.  Drawn toward the darker side of thought and existence, Hall was a prime candidate for the mantle of Atropos.  Once given the Mask of Atropos, Hall became Gideon Haunt, the legendary Necromancer of the Negative Material Plane.  Having made a brief appearance in the Prime Material Plane (our own world) at around 12,000 b.c., the original Gideon Haunt is familiar with this world and can move about and exist undetected therein.  Gideon Haunt is one of three Earthly Avatars.  The Atropos Aspect, of which Gideon is the Avatar, is the aspect of Destruction, or Death--the sign of the End.  The other two aspects are Clotho, the aspect of Creation (or life) and Lachesis, the aspect of Conflict (or War).  The sign of Atropos represtents the Ghost or Spirit;  the sign of Clotho represents the Lotus Blossom; and the sign of Lachesis represents the Blade.  Gideon Haunt is given the ability to raise the dead and communicate with them.  He can also end the life of most beings with a mere thought.  Certain telepathic safeguards can be made against this power, but only by very powerful individuals.  Gideon also acts as an Earth/Air elemental and therefore has control over those respective elements.  He also has power in the controversial Shadow element, which has not been accepted by most as a "true" element.
