About this Webpage |
This
is my first attempt at creating a webpage, I am using a MS Word for this purpose
and hence this version is not too jazzy, you need to wait for version 2.0
which I promise would be an improvement after I learn Java/HTML coding from my
“immortal coder friends” (I don’t even know what to learn, so u can guess
….hehehe) who are serving the “IT march of India” (!!). This webpage describes
the various stages of my life and has a collection of some useful links. You
can find my thoughts and blogs (here).
Recently After my first blogpage received a phenomenal response (!!) I made
another blogpage to cater to such huge traffic (!!), which can be found here. I had made a website for
myself but then I found out that it was a free only for the initial period of
one month, In case you are an early bird you can still find it active here. |

Different Stages of My life |
Childhood Days - I was born
and brought up in a typical middle class family in a small town called Ranchi
which is now the capital of the newly formed state of Jharkhand in the
republic of India. My childhood days were quite peaceful and I attended
school at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, which was a stone throws
distance from my house. I must comment the schooling was the best which was available
in the state but then I was not too interested in studies (as is the case today
also!!). Life at College - After
undergoing the schooling I went to Chennai for pursuing higher education. I
hold a Master of Technology in Infrastructure Management and a Bachelor of
Technology in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Madras). I was an average student in my
college days and was quite active in sports events. I had represented IIT-Madras at three consecutive Inter-IIT
Sports Events (at Kanpur – 2000, Kharagpur – 2001 & Delhi – 2002) in the
soccer event. I played at left wing back position in a 4-4-2 formation. I
have won several medals while representing my hostel (Saraswathi Hostel) in
inter-hostel events at IIT-Madras. I
was quite active in the departmental activities and was the coordinator for
paper presentation and other events in the departmental fest called CEAFEST.
I had won two consecutive the All-India Technical Quiz competition at CEAFEST
– 2000 & 2001. I had won the first prize for providing a innovative and
efficient design for a multi-storeyed steel car park in an All India design
competition organized by Institute of Steel Design and Growth in India. (INSDAG). (sounds boastful is it ?
cant help it in anyways … hehehe!!) During
the five years I spent at IIT-Madras I
stayed at Saraswathi hostel, hostel life was the best part of the college
life. I made several friends there and shared some wonderful moments during
the period of five years (which continues till date). We were the most
rowdiest group that IIT-Madras and our
hostel had ever seen. Our juniors were quite scared of entering the 5th
wing and even our batch mates & seniors were afraid to come to our wing.
We have founded a group whose homepage could be found here. The most fond
memories of the my stay at hostel are the Saturday morning rawa dosas, bogs
without water, quadrangle footer and 5th wing corridors. Professional Career – I
started my career as a Management Trainee at IL&FS Infrastructure
Development Corporation (IL&FSIDC). The decision to join IL&FSIDC was
a tough one considering that an IT-MNC
had offered me a better package at campus. However, going by my gut feeling I
plunged into the world of infrastructure finance. My job responsibility at
IL&FSIDC were project development, project structuring, procurement
documentation, providing guidance & support to technical consultants and
client engagement. I got a lot of freedom to work there as I was working part
of the smallest team that can be assembled ever(!!). I had risen to the
designation of Senior Office at IL&FSIDC and it was a good first
experience of work. However, after completing two years with IL&FSIDC I
decided to move on to I-banking and am presently working as an Associate at
SBI Capital Markets Ltd. (SBICAP). I am
looking at investment banking activities for transportation, ports and
airports verticals. I
encourage you to mail me here
in case you wish to contact me regarding any further information,
clarifications or anything else which you wish to know. I try to reply back
to mails in a day or two provided I have got a descent internet connection. |

My Family |
My
father retired as DGM from MECON Ltd.
and my mother is a home-maker. I have great respect for my father, from whom
I derive all my values and other characters traits. He has taught me the
importance of honesty, integrity and values. He me realize the importance of
education in professional career. My mother is wonderful cook and cooks all
sorts of delicacies for me. As a typical mother she is very fond of me. I
have a sister who is married and is presently employed with
PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a
Business Consultant. My brother in law is heading the sales function in a
start-up called Paladion Networks (Paladion).
Both of them are presently located at Mumbai and we have a wonderful time
over weekends (of course at their place!! hehehe). We
have a typical closely-knit Indian family, which places great value to
culture. It has taught me respect elders and shower love to youngers. I am
proud of all my family members, cousins, uncles and aunts. |

My Interests |
My
professional interests include investment and corporate finance, project
finance, public-private partnerships, financial modeling, business strategy, organizational
behavior and stochastic risk modeling. I am a number-crunching nerd who is
perceived to be good at modeling and analysis (of course by others!). And
that is the way I earn by bread (in case you want to know more about me
please contact me here).
I used to be a workaholic till sometime back but have realized the importance
of leading a balance life lately. On
personal front I am interested in philosophy, sharing experience of life,
understanding society and organizational behavior, values and culture. I
share my thoughts thru my blogs which could be accessed here and here. Off late I am aspiring to
achieve “thought leadership” and which has resulted in me becoming a ardent
debater. |
