Webster County, West Virginia Silas was age 65 and Etta 23 when they were married. He
was living at Silica and she at Canaan, West Virginia.
Lovena�s father Arthur Grimes Jr. is the son of Arthur and Mary (Sharp) Grimes
.They lived in Verdan Valley, Pocahantas County. Arthur Sr.�s father is Felix and
Catherine Grimes who were natives of Ireland and settled at Huntersville, Pocahantas
County, Virginia.

According to the census and various records Silas D. lived in Pocahantas, Barbour,
Upshur and Randolph Counties at different times throughout his life. He lived to be
several years old. When his son Peter passed away at the age of 70 Silas was 102 years
old and living at Helvetia, West Virginia.

County]. At the time of their marriage, Mary was 21 and Jacob was 25. This
information from the marriage records in the Upshur County Court House, Buckhannon,
WV. Jacob�s parents were Brown M. and Emily Rachael Waugh. Brown was born
September 13, 1833 and died July 28, 1911 and is buried at the Rice Cemetery between
Canaan and Eden, West Virginia. Emily was born March 3, 1833 and died March 23,
1916 and is buried at the Rice Cemetery. Mary and Jacob�s children are:
PETER M. HELMICK, born June 17, 1862 in Barbour County, Virginia. He died [____
__, 1927 and is buried at the Lorentz Cemetery, Lorentz, West Virginia. On September
18, 1881 he married BARBARA ANN DAFT by Stillman Young in Upshur County.
Barbara was born October 3, 1865 in Randolph County, West Virginia. She is the
daughter of Jno. William and Elizabeth (Ramsey) Daff. both born in Randolph County.
Peter was living on the Red Rock Road when he passed away and Barbara was living at
24 South Locust Street, Buckhannon, WV when she passed away on December 21, 1946.
She also is buried at the Lorentz Cemetery. They had the following children:

PETER HELMICK DEAD
Peter M. Helmick aged about 70, died
at his home in Red Rock last Thursday afternoon
and was buried Saturday at Lorentz . His father,
Silas Helmick aged 102 years lives near Helvetia
and also leaves his widow and four sons. Herman
and Abraham, of Red Rock, George of Elkins, and
Samson of Newburg.

The cemetery is on a hill above the water falls next to the Walt Lowther store. His first
wife was ALLEN E. ANDERSON, born February 11, 1876. Died January 2, 1896 and is
buried at the Alfred Anderson Cemetery. To Brown and Allen was born Sidney. Brown
married for his second wife MARY SUSAN [HINKLE]. She was born ____ __, 1872 the
daughter of Able �Abe� Perry Hinkle and Mary Magdaline Anderson Hinkle. Abe was
born ____ __, 1843 and died ____ __, 1908 and is buried at the Alfred Anderson
Cemetery #1 in Webster County, West Virginia. His wife was Mary was born ____ __,
