These are from the second half of the second semester of my first year.

This is my bed and it was modelled and rendered in vectorworks. We had to choose the piece of furniture, make it on the computer, then make a room around it.

The Baby Bird Cup

The concept is a bird emerging from its egg. This is made of bluefoam and was shaped with a hotwire, scalpel, files, various grades of sandpaper, two cuts on my fingers and 10 hours. Covered in 3 layers of gesso.

The Black and Orange Toolbox

The brief was to make a toolbox out of plywood (Which is kind of impractical seeing as plywood is too heavy to make a toolbox out of... but what can you do). This is the final design, after three other discarded designs which you can sort of see in the top left of the presentation in the top picture. It folds into a compact rectangular prism. It's made of plywood but has some metal hinges and some pieces of hardwood for the bit holding the handle in place. This took over 40 hours.
