TYRENS

The Warlord

Tyrens generally appears as a mighty warrior, usually to join the underdogs in a fight to ensure victory.  He normally appears as more of a forceful figure, clad from head to toe in heavy plated armour which hardly seems to slow him down as he fights gracefully.  As he has never, in any confirmed sighting, removed his helm it is uncertain what he looks like beneath his armour - if there even is anything beneath his arrmour!  Physically, he is supposed to manifest as being about six and a half feet tall, and popular opinion would estimate his weight at about two hundred pounds.  Beyond that, all else is conjecture.

As would be expected, the God of War has many cults.  They may have different names, but their basic creed and practices remain the same.  The majority of those who expect to be involved in combat regularly throughout their lives would be wise to pay some heed to the worship of Tyrens, for you never know when that worship could come in handy.

Scholar's Note The Amazonian people of Carthage believe that Tyrens is one of the principle gods of the pantheon, but also, interestingly, believe that Tyrens is female.  This scholar would offer the opinion that cultures seek to transfer as much of their own characteristics onto their deities as possible, although he would note that the majority of cultures hold firm in the belief that many of the major deities are female, despite the majority of cultures being male-dominated.

Tyrens is not an understood figure, by any means - he appears to be a rather obsessive, one dimensional figure.  He clearly has his favourites, and pays no attention to race or gender in picking them - some of the greatest heroes in history have been devoted followers of the Warlord.  However, he is rarely known to have taken the time to stop to talk to people before rushing away to participate in another battle.  His favourites are the only people likely to see him more than once, but warriors would be wise to heed history's warning before seeking to become such a favourite, for not a single one that has come before them has died of old age.
