THE ANIMAL KING
OBERON
LORD OF THE HUNT

The God of the Animals is commonly known as Oberon. While his appearances to sentient races are few and far between (or simply unrecorded), those manifestations that have been recorded tell of a variety of forms, usually part man and part beast. Oberon has also been known to have appeared in the guise of a shepherd or a hunter. Despite the variety of forms that Oberon has been known to take, one common factor is that the form taken is of above average size. This has tended to lead to several near misses, including the infamous Hunt of the White Hart, as hunters tend to be enchanted by the idea of hunting larger and larger beasts, but serves as a useful warning for such folk to heed.
As the Animal King, Oberon's sentient worshippers are few and far between, although he demands respect from all those who are involved in any form of animal husbandry. He is not only revered amongst such people as shepherds and cattle-drivers, but also amongst rangers, druids and beast-masters.
Oberon has several Cults that worship him, many of which being formed by were-creatures who revere him. The Church of Oberon has fallen into disrepair and disrepute following the apparent departure of the Gods, and has faded greatly from it's former glory. The current 'High Priest' is an ageing beast-master, whose mantle must soon be passed to a successor.
Oberon is said to be a rather brutish god - coarse and peasant-like in both appearance and action, a very simple god, who wouldn't know subtlety if it hit him in the face with a brick. His blunt attitudes have been said to upset others amongst the pantheon, but as he was not generally seen as a major god, he tended to be left alone to do as he wished, which suited him fine as he preferred the company of his followers to that of other races or gods. While he speaks bluntly, he acts with animal cunning that many do not expect, thus allowing him a certain advantage in dealing with others as they simply underestimate him.
Oberon is the husband of Eagin.
