COLLINIUS

God of the Earth

Collinius appears rarely to sentient mortals, although he appears most often to dwarves, as their natural habitat is within his kingdom. He appears as a craggy faced man or dwarf, with heavily weathered features and gnarled hands. His beard is ample, with grey streaks running through the loamy brown colour, also the colour of his eyes. His clothing when he appears is simple, usually made from heavily worn leather and coarse fabric.  Surprisingly, there are few who actively worship him, since they tend to focus more on the flora and fauna of Erythia than the soil that sustains them.  He is known for his steadfastness, endurance and strength, which made him the obvious successor to become the God of Earth.  He is an extremely patient God, slow to anger, but extremely dangerous when riled.

He is the god who, after the mortal races were given the gift of fire, is supposed to have taught them to shape metals into tools, amongst other crafts, and for this he is also known as the Forgemaster.  It is said that the use of this gift to later make weapons is something that causes Collinius great shame.

Collinius is the husband of Hertia, and the two are said to have a very close and solid relationship.
