TUNDRASTA
Land of Ice
Tundrasta is the name given to the frozen lands to the north of the rest of Erythia. In the hottest summers, the lands actually separate, but in the winters they are joined by thick ice. It is one of the harshest areas in Erythia, and sparsely populated. Great herds of caribou provide the primary sustenance to the more deadly creatures that roam in Tundrasta. Fortunately, few of these creatures, such as the infamous yeti, venture to the south to trouble the more civilised realms.
The primary inhabitants of Tundrasta are the fierce Barbarian Tribes and the rather savage Arctic Halflings. These two races have warred, but generally find themselves too preoccupied with survival to do so regularly.
Trade consists of mainly furs, whalebone and assorted trophies taken from slain foes, such as yeti hide. The inhabitants buy more luxurious items, such as high-quality weapons, timber, leather and other goods which they find it harder to create than their southern neighbours. At the trade towns, fighting is forbidden, with those that break the rules thrown out and possibly barred from trading there again.
