Sunset Boulevard

In Em,Am and B7

Hard work, this art.

I went down to the beach one fine evening
To watch the setting sun
The last rays of light were just leaving
I found that my lady had gone

The tracks that our footprints had made
Mine led to me but hers stopped at the shore
I cried loud and later I prayed
Lord, bring her back- I won't ask you for more

I slowly went down to the sea
She wrote a message for me in the sand
'I am dead now, and please don't you miss me
Don't ask why 'cause you won't understand'

In my darkness I saw lights above
The stars spelt her name in the skies
When I look up I think of this lost love
It goes hazy through tears in my eyes

I'm sorry I'm singing this story
But it happened not far from here
In sadness there's always some glory
Please hand me another beer
