Well I woke up in the evening
So I knew I was alive
With the stuff I have been drinking
Surprised that I survive
But I keep on driving
All through the night
And I aim my bumper-bar
At every kangaroo in sight
In the rearview mirror
I am ugly as sin
Mistaken for the afterbirth
Mum chucked me in the bin
So I'd rather keep on driving
Than tossing lonely in my bed
And the crunching of the roo on the bar
Is the only joy I get
Grown out of the bin
Father made me get a job
Australia's Prime Minister
I have been right at the top
But I better keep on driving
And leave a trail of meat behind
The one thing in the world that I learned
It is cruel to be kind
Tonight I've wasted emus
And crushed a roo or two
And all this stupid wildlife
Gives me something to do
So just let me keep on driving
I've got nothing to loose
Just driving through the night and singing
The Aussie Roadkill Blues
