BLOOD SWORD OF
SIR DERMONT THOMPKINS

This weapon was fashioned by Sir Thomkins of the Kingdom of Shem, about 300 years ago. As it was being forged in the fires of the Black Peaks with the help of his good friend Crast of the dwarven clan Galista, and Thewen the Gray was casting enchantments on it as it was being forged. Unfortunately as the final enchantments were being laid and the final sigil being branded the brand was reversed, and instead of a protection from evil it became a blood-sword. The resulting blast turned the sword pale silver and sucked the very life essence from the Knight, Thewen attempted to save his friend and succeeded in keeping his soul from being completely absorbed but with half of his soul in the sword, Sir Thomkins in effect became a death-knight. His body no longer able to sustain its life force without a full soul. Sir Thomkins turned on Thewen first using his power word kill the mage had no chance. He fell immediately. As the flesh on Sir Thomkins rotted, he was struck by the axe of his friend Crast, the dwarf did not hesitate, for he knew that they had unleashed a horror on the world. The brave dwarf was no match for the monstrosity and the death knight dispatch him with a rotting touch. The dwarf uttered his last breath to be avenged by his bretheren. Over the years Sir Thompkins lost possession of the sword, and has been searching for it for about 200 years. It has had many owners. If the sword ever truly died from not being possessed by a living entity, it would return to its original owner, and the world will suffer. The only way to completely destroy the sword is to destroy Sir Thompkins with the blood-sword.

It is a bloodsworddoes 2d8+6 damage It is a cursed weapon. It needs blood from a humanoid (medium sized) victim once every 24 hours, if it does not recieve its daily dose, it takes 2d8 from its bearer. Additionally this weapon does not do +6 to non living material ie. undead, furniture, trees walls, doors. This weapon cannot be thrown away without lifting the curse.

To give the blade to another, the curse must be lifted and within 24hrs given, "willingly to another" If the weapon has no owner in that time it will return to its bearer. If you throw it down a well, have it stolen, or even cast it into another dimension, it will return and take it's daily drink.

This weapon does not allow the bearer to use another weapon, any attempt to do so results in the "disintegration of that weapon. If the bearer dies and no one claims the bloodsword the magic will die within a month, the sword will become brittle and useless.

If you are killed or die, and are raised the curse still follows you as long as the sword still has life.
