Kharl is a Yokai alchemist living in a castle in Arinas. He used the power of two birds to create the souls and bodies of demons, and he transformed other creatures into demons using his magic. He has the power to control life, creating or destroying it as he sees fit. His master was killed by the King of Arinas, and for this reason, he has held a grudge against the man for an extremely long time. He is a bit obsessive, always trying to get what he wants no matter what it takes to do it. He is generally happy, but he becomes rather moody when he doesn't have his way. He's forgetful and untidy, making him a problem for Garfakcy to deal with.

He has a mysterious past with Rath that even Rath is unaware of, and he longs to return Rath to the way that he was originally. He cares for Rath and wants him to be by his side, and he is afraid that his constant pestering may make Rath angry. He hates Lykouleon for sealing Rath's true powers away and keeping him within the Dragon Tribe's care, and he hates Nadil for trying to hurt Rath. He is amused by Garfakcy, his human housekeeper, who is constantly scolding him for doing what he does. He likes to make Garfakcy mad, as it seems to keep him entertained.
