CRM TECHNOLOGY: MORE DETAIL

P1

To determine what CRM applications a company needs, it should do an analysis of Its markets, distribution channels and customer need . Management must be clear about its strategy and goals: for example, do they want to sell more effectively or improve customer care? Management should look at all the different ways information about customers comes into the business, where and how these data are stored and how the data are used. Many companies have failed at CRM because they chose the software first and tried to build the company’s strategy around it. CRM technology supports the strategy.

P2

MEASURING THE PAYOFF OF A CRM SYSTEM

Measuring the payoff of a CRM system, especially in its early stages can be difficult and contentious. Of particular concern is measuring the impact of "What would have happened if we hadn’t adopted a CRM System?" Consulting companies caution that up to 70 per cent of CRM projects don’t produce measurable business benefits.24 However, it is not clear if this is because CRM approaches were inappropriate or whether the were poorly implemented. In 2001, The Meta Group, IT consultants, predicted that the demand for CRM software, consulting and systems integration services will grow from US$20.4 billion in 2001 toUS$46 billion by 2003, but Data Quest offered a much less optimistic forecast in late 2001. One of the largest CRM software vendors, Siebel Systems had revenues of US$1.8 billion and profits of US$123 million in 2000. IDC Canada predicted in summer 2001 that through 2004 the Canadian CRM market would grow at 54 per tent compounded annually .27

TABLE OF CONTENT

A Text book is like 20 story building, Each Floor represents a Chapter. you start from the ground floor and explore All offices ( all Topics in the chapter ) on the ground floor , till you reach the top. if you are not going to explore each office on the floor , you wont be able to know what Businesses ( topics in the chapter ) are there . ANOTHER KEY TECHQNIQUE

TO GRASP WHATS IN THE CHAPTER

AND

FOR MEMORIZATION

AND RETAINING PURPOSES

When you start reading the Chapter at times you get bored , and you try to see what other heading comes next, until you leave the TextBook because everything is going over your mind and you cant remember what’s in the chapter and you say " Damn there are so many headings and pages to cover" and you go out , and when you come back its almost time for sleep and you are too tired.

BEFORE YOU START READING THE CHAPTER DO THIS :

List down all the heading and Subheadings in that chapter. Remember Each Main Heading is a new Topic or New Question that can come in Exam, and Each Main Heading (MH) Consist of many Sub Heading (SH) they itself consist of Sub-Sub-Heading (S-SH) and Sub-Sub-Sub- Heading (S3H)

MH= SH + SSH+S3H

Q. Hey Why you should I list down MH & SH when they are already given in Detailed TOC ( Table of Content) ?

                    Ans.

1) Trust me not all ( SH) Sub headings are covered in the Detailed TOC, so you would miss important ones

2) When you write down each MH and SH & SSH , you will remember it for a long time rather than browsing or glancing Thorough it also you it’s a fact that you remember what you have write in your own handwriting for a long time , then printed Text.

REMEMBERING BY COLORS

Simplifying Digital Media

Thu Jun 10, 7:50 AM ET

Michael Fitzgerald - ExtremeTech

Like most people, I like music and movies, and I like the idea of storing them all on a hard drive and zipping them around my home network to whatever device I might want to experience them on, whether it's a home entertainment center or a portable player.

What I don't like is the reality of what it takes before the fun starts. There's the time needed to rip hundreds of CDs to a hard drive; the legal (and malware) risks present in downloading those CDs from a file-sharing service, not to mention the costs in dollars and time of doing it legally; the need to buy and configure an entertainment center to be able to wirelessly push things from my PC; and the fact that neither of the family cars has a CD player that reads rewritable CDs.

Even worse, there is the question of what format I would use to do all of this. A quick glance at my computer turns up RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player and a shockingly out-of-date version of the DiVX Player – plus specialized software for playing DVDs, managing my digital photos and transferring files from my digital cassette recorder.

I use all of them, up to a point. I'm most familiar with Real's software in part because I've been using it the longest, since it used to be better than Windows Media Player, and most content providers support both formats. In short, I go with what I know. Other formats come up as I come across various clips – QuickTime is nearly ubiquitous for Web video, and I remember upgrading to a new version to see Steve Ballmer's monkey dance! And on a different PC, I downloaded a version to run the latest "Blue's Clues" music video for my toddlers.
