Gwendolyn
Thomas was born again at the age of thirteen. She married
at
age twenty
and raised eight children. Gwen Thomas has written three
books. Her
first publication is "Christian Women Abused by
Christian
Men." Here is
a portion of the Dedication that appears in her book:
"To God, my
Father.... To Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior of my
Life..."
At the
writing of her first book, she was twenty-three years of
age.
Sensing the
call to the ministry at the same time as the writing of
this
book, she
also felt the call to minister to women on this topic of
abuse
as well as
other topics. Gwendolyn is called to teach and stands in
the office of
a Prophet. She has written another book in tribute to
her
mother
titled, "My Mama's, Your Mama's Sayings, A Tribute to Ruby."
In
this book,
the author took all the old saying of her mother and
found
the
scriptural equivalent in the Bible. This became a project for
her,
at the age of
twenty-three when she reflected upon the last few years
and realized
that all the things her mother had told her were true.
Being a
student of the Bible, she was also aware that many of the
sayings
her mother
spoke were scriptural even if she didn't say them that
way.
Finally, Ms.
Thomas, is presently completing her current work which
is
titled, "What
Am i Doing With Him, I Don't Even Like Dogs?" While the
title is
meant to be satirical, the book itself deals with the
seriousness
of
relationships and the effect they have on ones life. This book is
a
personal
account of some of the relationships Ms. Thomas has had.
Come inside
the pages of this deeply moving intimate account of
the test,
trials and growth of one woman striving to reach
perfection.
Readers will
appreciate the candor with which the author talks about
real issues
real women face. Ms. Thomas hopes these literary works
will
enlighten and
perpetuate growth in the lives of its readers.
