Projects

IC Engine Control:

Speed and air-fuel ratio control of an automotive engine
Designed a speed and air-fuel ratio control of automotive engines using new output feedback based dynamic sliding mode control strategies. Results presented at a conference on Advanced Simulation and Control for Automotive Applications, 24 - 26 Sept. 2001, Oxford, UK.

Multi-Input-Multi-Output control of IC engines
Applied a output feedback based dynamic sliding mode controller to speed control of automotive engines and presented simulation studies at Fourth Non-linear Control Network Workshop, 25 - 28 June 2001, The University of Sheffield, UK.

Robust Speed Control of an Automotive Engine
Designed a robust controller for speed control of an automotive engine using second order sliding modes and published simulation studies in the Proceedings of European Control Conference 2000, 4-7 September, Portugal.

Aircraft Dynamics Control:

Nonlinear control of aircraft dynamics using flatness
Designed a nonlinear controller for F-4 aircraft based on the concept of ‘differential flatness?and carried out simulation studies using MATLAB with non-dimensional aerodynamic wind tunnel data. This was my final semester MTech project and was carried out at Technical University Dresden, Germany

Control of longitudinal dynamics of aircraft using periodic output feedback
A family of transfer functions of aircraft, representing the longitudinal dynamics is controlled using multi-model approach. MATLAB and its LMI toolbox were used as the programming environment. This work was presented at an IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, Feb. 2002, Goa India.

Modelling of aircraft dynamics using artificial neural networks
Modelled the longitudinal dynamics of aircraft by a multilayer perceptron network using the data generated by ten transfer functions for a particular flight condition. The project was accomplished using ANN toolbox in MATLAB.

Induction Motor Control:

Designed a PC-based speed controller for master-slave induction motors
Designed and tested an interfacing card to interface a single-phase induction motor with a PC. Assembly language programming of INTEL-8086 mixed with C–language was used. The project was accomplished as ‘Final Year Electrical Engineering Project?in a team of three students.

Computer Knowledge
a. MATLAB:
I did MATLAB programming for miniproject and main project. ANN, LMI,   and QFT toolboxes were used during the course of M. Tech. and simulation was done for closed loop dynamics of aircraft incorporating the controller designed, based on flatness concept.
b. Working knowledge of C and FORTRAN-77
c. Assembly Language Programming for INTEL-8085 micro-processor was done as laboratory course work.
d. Worked with UNIX, Windows95/98/NT4.0 and Windows 2000
e. Working knowledge of MS-office, HTML, LaTex and MATHEMATICA3.0
