Introduction


Cette recherche vous introduit au mus�e du Louvre, en particulier vous allez chercher et analyser les paintres romantiques. Votre mission et de trouver le fameux tableau(Libert� Marchante par Delacroix)qui symbolise la revolution francaise.
This Webquest will introduce to the famous Louvre Museum in Paris, you'll be exploring in teams the role of the Romantic painters in the nineteen century, in particular(Liberty guiding people, by Delacroix) that symbolises the French Revolution.

The Process and Resources

* In this quest you'll be working together as a year 11 students in French. You'll be dividing into two teams:

- Museum Attendant: where you will explore the Louvre official site online, and guide the other team into the Romantic painters sections, writing down the most important paintaings and links.

- Art critics: You will take the role of Art critic or Art historian. your role is to study the Romantic periods art, most importantly Delacroix Liberty walking and report back to the class your findings.

Phase 1 - Background: Something for Everyone

Use the Internet information linked below to answer the basic questions of who? what? where? when? why? and how? Be creative in exploring the information so that you answer these questions as fully and insightfully as you can.

Phase 2 - Looking Deeper from Different Perspectives

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Individuals or pairs from your larger WebQuest team will explore one of the roles below.

2. Read through the files linked to your group. If you print out the files, underline the passages that you feel are the most important. If you look at the files on the computer, copy sections you feel are important by dragging the mouse across the passage and copying / pasting it into a word processor or other writing software.

3. Note: Remember to write down or copy/paste the URL of the file you take the passage from so you can quickly go back to it if you need to to prove your point.

4. Be prepared to focus what you've learned into one main opinion that answers the Big Quest(ion) or Task based on what you have learned from the links for your role.

Note down important details pertinent to your quest. Divide into group of four for each section. Summarize findings on a word processer.

This the site of'Les amis du Louvre', you should organise into gourp of four, to study the link, seach for help from people with the same interest, relating to your quest. Gather as much infomation as possible. Write down important links or details.

An educational Site

This is an educational site about the Museum and in particualr the French Romantic painters. As Art critic you should in group of four explore in depth all pictures relating to Delacroix with comments or study of format.

Phase 3 - Debating, Discussing, and Reaching Consensus

You have all learned something about a different part of The Louvre Museum and the Romantic Painters. Now group members come back to the larger WebQuest team with expertise gained by searching from all perspective. You should all now answer the Task / Quest(ion) as a group. Museum attendants presents their facts to Art critics and vice-versa. you will combine all findings to study in depth "Liberty Guiding people" this should be done in French as a slide show on Powerpoint presentation in the class or on OHP.

Phase 4 - Real World Feedback

You and your teammates will organise a slide show on the French Romantics. You have to describe history of that movement, its role in french society; and an analysis of"Liberty guiding people" The theme, the colours, the background making use of all the date obtained so far:
1. Begin your slide with an a brief introduction of the Louvre Museum past and present, such as the date it was built, location, sections,shops and visitors informtion

2. Discuss clearly the Romantic period, in particular Delacroix, substantiate your statements with graphics obtained from visited links. STATE THE TASK / QUEST(ION) AND YOUR GROUP'S ANSWER.

3. Each person in your group should paricipate in writing one slide with imagery, comments and so on, quote visited links and acknowlege references.

4. Open discussion, relate the universal theme in Romaticism to our century, How relevant they are? what are some of the notions that are still valid? for example the subject of freedom, fraternity and equality.Have each person on the team proofread the message. Use correct letter format and make sure you have correctly addressed the email message.

5. N.B: You have to answer all these questions in French, so make extensive use of prior knowlege and dictionaries and the links above to provide an accurate picture of th theme.

Enfint, vous avez appris que les peintres romantiques �tait des agents du changement sociale dans le 19�me si�cle. Vous aviez analyser au fond leur peinture, leur reves, leurs aspiration a �tablir une societ� libre et �gale. En particulier, Delacroix' Libert� guidant le peuple' un tableau qui r�sume les tendances et les
�venments du l'�poque symbolisant le grand th�me de la justice et de libert� parmi les peuples francais. Evidement, vous avez appris un part de l'histoire parce que un theme si grand et complex de la libert� prend des volumes, mais vous devez avoir fiert� de vous-meme et votre project qui
